CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY DEBATE ON ART.48 OF THE CONSTITUTION
Before enacting Art.48 there is a debate on cow protection in constituent Assembly i.e. thr was discourse between Hindu& Muslim Appeasement.On that debate thr was various religious faiths and beliefs were attached between two communities regarding cows Many members from Indian National congress namely Mahatma GANDHI,,Jawahar Lal Nehru,Rajendra prasad ,B.N,Rau etc had opined thr views on that debate.'Mahatma Gandhi once declared ''prohibition on cow slaughter more important thn Swaraj'' The cow did not find any protection in the draft of the constitution .Before 14 days of Independence jawahar Lal NEHRU had expressed his desire in a letter that cow slaughter should be stopped by the legislation on account of Hindu fellings....
views on MUSLIM Appeasement, thr was also a various views,opinions and .thoughts from MUSLIM COMMUNITY they also opined thr views regarding cow slaughter in INDIA till Mughal RULE.
The Muslim members also presented ' that if thr religion is constantly accused of cow slaughter' thn let it be prohibited in clear,definite and unambigious words.... Mohammed Saddullah from Assam also declare'' that the cow should be protected from slaughter i know the vast majority of the Hindu nation revere the cow as their goddess &therefore they canot brook the idea seeing it slaughtered ''HE also added from HOLY QUARAN "LA IQRABA FID DIN ''MEANS THERE OUGHT TO BE NO COMPULSION IN THE NAME OF RELIGION ''
THE UNANSWERED QUESTION IS THAT - various judicial pronouncements reveled undercurrent flow of religion and caste in the otherwise secular laws on beef consumption &cow slaughter.what has also remained unchanged is the victimisation of minorities in the name of holy cow.
