Section 117 of Bharatiya Sakshiya Adhiniyam i.e presumption as to abetment of suicide by a married woman
Section 117 of Bharatiya Sakshiya Adhiniyam -defines presumption as to abetment of suicide by a married woman -if a woman committed suicide and before her death she had been abetted by her husband or any relative of her husband and when it is shown that she committed suicide within 7 years from the date of her marriage and her husband or such relative of her husband had subjected to cruelty ,thn the court may presume that such suicide had been abetted by her husband or by such relative of her husband '
section 118 defines presumption as to dowry death means wheather a woman committed dowry death and if is shown that before her death she had been subjected to cruelty or harrassment for or in connection with ,any demand for dowry thn the court shall presume that such person had caused the dowry death
section 80 of BNS defines dowry death where the death of woman is caused by any burns or bodily injury or occures other thn normal circumstances within 7 years of her marriage and before her death she was subjected to cruelty or harrassment by husband or any relatives of her husband for or in connection with any demand for dowry such death shall be called :dowry death &such husband or relative shall be deemed to have caused her death.

It was held that ,the woman committed suicide for demand for T.V. ,electric fan etc was made .But the prosecution has failed to establish that she was subjected to cruelty in connection with dowry demands....
